Walk from room to room and click on Pepe the owl to see how to play - he shows you what to do with pictures! How Do I Get RARE FISH For My Tank? You need to fish for a long time - then when you see an odd-looking one different from the rest be sure to grab it - in the same way you catch a normal fish. They are VERY rare - and there is no set amount of time. It is random you see. There are lots of different types of fish in Garden Party. At the moment you have 5 rare fish you can collect for your aquarium: Aquamak, Blue Bubba, Golden Sun, Peachy and Tiger-Lily. Have fun fishing! How do I put rare fish in my aquarium? When you go to your tree house, look in your storage box. Any rare fish you caught will be there. Click on them and they will go in your aquarium. Once you put fish in your tank, you cannot remove them. How Do I Get the Easter Eggs, bunny ears and bunny suit? These were limited edition items available only over Easter! How do you play the pop up question/Jumbled up word game? The Pop up question/Jumbled up word game is like hide and seek: 1. First, Garden Party sends a message with a jumbled up word with the picture of the Character you need to find. 2. Then, you need to find the character walking around Garden Party. 3. Finally, if you are the first player to write the winning word correctly within the chat box in the place where the character is and you will win a prize. Good luck! How Do I Get the GOLDEN LION Suit? One in 25 Lion seeds sold in the shop are golden lion suits - It is part luck and part hard work - but if they weren't rare then they wouldn't be special! Where can I get a Snowdrop pet? The Snowdrop pet will be available again during Winter Wonderland Season December to January. Until then if you want a Snowdrop pet you will have to find another player that has a Snowdrop who wishes to trade, sell or gift you this pet. Can I get Free VIG Membership? I wish it were so that Garden Party could provide free VIG membership to all players. But as it takes a lot of hard-working people to bring this fun game to you so this is just not possible. You can continue to play Garden Party as a Free Gardener and can always choose to become a VIG Member Gardener for the full Garden Party experience anytime. I am sure you understand that membership is necessary to continue to make Garden Party World even more fun. How Do I Get the POLAR BEAR Suit? One in 50 Bear seeds sold in the shop are white polar bear suits - It is part luck and part hard work - but if they were not rare then they would not be special! How can I earn lots of Orbs? Fishing and the rocket basket ball game are great ways to earn lots of orbs - so is completing the jigsaw puzzle. If you have a spacesuit the Jet Mission game in space is a good way too! How Do I Get the Headphones? This was a limited edition item available only over the Christmas period! How Do I Get the DISCO GLASSES? To get the disco glasses you need to be at the very top of the disco high score table when it resets itself (at midnight UK time / 7pm US Eastern time). How can I get rare items that are not in listed in the FAQ? Some items players can get during special garden party events which will be announced on the blog and the newsletter. However there are other items hidden in garden party for players to discover and which are available for a limited time only. How can I earn orbs? Here are some of the ways you can earn orbs in Garden Party: Play the fishing game in Jungle Falls or Lazy Lagoon Play the bee game in Jungle Falls Play the disco game in Timber Town Play the Jigsaw game in Rock Heights Play the colouring game in Rock Heights Play the paintball game in Rock Heights Play the Space game on the planet Alfafa Sell Food and items to Alf in his shop or other players in Buzz Market If you want to know how to play any of the games click on the Pepe the Owl who you will see in each area and he will be happy to show you. How do I climb up to my treehouse for the first time? Go to your garden, grab the watering can and water the mushroom at the base of the tree at the back on the left. This will grow into the steps that lead up to your treehouse. How Do I Get the Zorro mask? This was a limited edition item available only over the Christmas period! How Do I Get the FISH HAT? To get the fish hat you need to be at the very top of the fishing high score table when it resets itself (at midnight UK time / 7pm US Eastern time). How can I fly? First make sure you have a bee costume then click in the sky and you will turn into a bee. Then click on the ground when you want to change back into your character. How do I remove a friend from my friend list? 1. Click on your friend list to open it, the little green book button with the yellow smiley 2. Click on the name of the friend you wish to block 3. Click on the remove button If you change your mind you can always click on the friend you wish to add to open up their player card and then click on the plus sign. How can I fish? To fish first of all you will need to check if you have a Duck Suit. If you don't have a Duck Suit then go to Alf's shop in Buzz Market and buy a Duck Seed. Once you have grown your Duck Suit you can either go to Lazy Lagoon or Jungle Falls click on Pepe the Owl who will explain in pictures exactly how to fish. How can I change back from being a tomato monster? After a few minutes the tomato monster costumes magic wears off. If you cant wait, all you have to do if you are a tomato monster is to click on your character to open your player card, click on the star and choose a costume. You will be a tomato monster no more. How Do I Get the red and white stripey top hat? This is the prize you get for winning the art competition! How Do I Get the Christmas themed items? These were all limited edition items available only over the Christmas period! How Do I Get the LARGE AFRO? To get the large afro you need to be at the very top of the paint basketball game by the rocket launch pad when it resets itself (at midnight UK time / 7pm US Eastern time). How Do I Get the Jamaican Hat? This was a limited edition item available only over the Christmas period! What does it mean that my inventory is full? It is like a box which is too full to put anything else in as you have more than 200 items. So if you want to put more in then you need to get rid of some of the things inside. You can either give items to other players, sell items in buzz market or to Alf in the shop by clicking on him. How Do I Get the Halloween themed items? These were all limited edition items available only over the Halloween weekend! How Do I Get the Blue Retros? This was a limited edition item available only over the Christmas period! How do I fly as a bee? You must have a bee suit to fly! Once you have it click on the sky and you automatically put your bee suit and fly. How soon does membership take effect? Memberships will be activated as soon as payment is received. This will depend on the method of payment you choose. Credit Card: Memberships purchased using the Credit Card payment option are activated instantaneously. PayPal: Memberships purchased using PayPal are activated within 1 day. Mail: Purchases made by mail may take up to 4 weeks to process. If the appropriate amount of time has passed and you have not received your membership, please contact the GardenParty Billing Team at support@gardenpartyworld.com How Do I Get the Viking hat? This was a limited edition item available only over the Christmas period! How Do I Get the Sombrero? This was a limited edition item available only over the Christmas period! How do I change the way I look or get my accessories? Click on yourself and then when the window appears, look at the very top right hand side. Notice a flashing yellow star to the right of your name on the edge of the window. Click on that and a new window will slide out. How do I get my pet out and what can it do? If you click on your character you will open the player card then click on the yellow star and choose your pet. Your pet will follow you around garden party. If you are a VIG Member (Very Important Gardener) your pet is a COOL pet that digs, sleeps and eats too. Remember to take your pet out of the kennel so you can take them for a walk or you will see him in your inventory greyed out. Where is the basketball/rocket launch game and how do you play? In Garden Party we have a Paintball game which looks like basketball. There is a stone door to the right of the painting game. That door opens for a short time after the colouring game is over. Go through the door and you will get to the Paintball game at the launch pad. To play you need to pick up a coloured fuel ball, click on the green button when the gauge is in the right place to throw the fuel ball. Mix colours to refuel the space ship! If you click on Pepe the owl he will give you picture instructions on how to play. I have username or password errors? Unable to login? Please check that your "caps lock" or "A" light on your keyboard is not on. If it is on, then press the "caps lock" key and try again. If this does not fix your problem: Please contact us at support@gardenpartyworld.com If this does not fix your problem: You may have a slow or lost connection. Please see the lost connection help for more information. How do I enter the art competition? You can email in your hand or computer drawn garden party themed pictures to general@gardenpartyworld.com by 15th of the month. How do I change into a costume or wear an accessory? Click on your character and a player card will come up then click on the star on the right hand side. Scroll until you see the costume or accessories you want to wear. How do I make juice for my friends and I to have in my treehouse? The kitchen and juice seeds you need to make juice are VIG Member exclusive seeds. Make juice for you and your friends to drink in your treehouse: 1. Buy a fruit seed and a kitchen seed in Alf's shop. NOTE: You may need to buy several kitchen seeds to get a juicer machine. 2. Plant and water your seeds 3. Collect the juice and juicer when they have grown 4. Place the juicer machine in your treehouse 5. Click on your storage box and then choose the juice box picture 6. Then click the green tick saying you refilled your juicer 7. Click on the juicer machine to make the juice 8. Finally click on the characters you want them to drink juice. How Do I Change my Password? In order to change your password or to receive a reminder as to what it may be, please email privacy@gardenpartyworld.com You can also change your settings when you log in to your Account. Loading takes forever? There are a few things you can try if you are not able to load a page on GardenParty: 1. Refresh or reload the web page. Look at the very top of your screen. Click on "View". You will see a list of choices. Click on "Refresh" or "Reload". You can also refresh or reload by clicking a button in your toolbar on top of the screen. 2. You can also check the "Breaking News" on the Garden Party log in page. Check to see if something brand new has been added to the site. If it has, it might mean a lot of people are logging on at once to check it out. Wait a few minutes and try again. 3. You might just have a slow connection to the Internet. Please read My connection is slow? to find out more about this issue. 4. Sometimes you are able to download most of a page, and then it stops. This could be a cache issue. Try clearing your cache. Please check your browsers help to find out how to clear cache. How do I renew my membership? To renew your GardenParty membership, simply go to the Membership Page, and choose the membership package of your choice. As long as you use the same player name and password when renewing, your membership will pick up right from where it left off. Note: If you currently have an active monthly recurring membership, you will not be allowed to renew your membership. You must first cancel your recurring billing and then renew your membership. Can I transfer my membership to a different gardener? Memberships are non-transferable. How can I get a spacesuit? The Spacesuit is one of our exclusive VIG Members items which can be bought in Alf\'s shop in Buzz Market. Why can’t I chat? When you registered with us you may have chosen the NO CHAT option. Please ask your parents permission to change your chat to the CHAT option. If they agree visit the following link and select chat in the preferences section: Account. How do I enter the Creative Writing competition? You can email your Garden Party themed stories to general@gardenpartyworld.com by end of the month. Which payment methods do you accept? We accept payment by credit card, debit card and PayPal our prices are quoted in British pounds as GardenParty is based in the UK but your card will be debited in your home currency at the currency exchange rate determined by your bank. Is there a family or group rate? Family or group rates are not available. Why can't I log in? There are several possible reasons: 1. Check that your USERNAME and PASSWORD are correct 2. You need to empty your Web browser's cache and cookies. You may need an adult to help you with this. 3. The game may be offline for a few minutes for maintenance. Please try to log in again in a few minutes. If you still can't log on please contact us. Some parts of the game are not appearing on my screen? There are two main reasons why this could be happening: 1. Reason 1 - Screen Resolution You might not have enough screen resolution to show these parts of the game. Its easy to adjust your screen resolution. If you are using PC If you are using a Mac 2. Reason 2 - Flash Player Version You might not have the right version of Adobe Flash Player. Reason #1: If you are using a PC: 1. Log out of GardenParty. Go to the desktop of your computer. 2. Click on the right button on your mouse. A box will pop up. Click on Properties. 3. Another box will pop up. Look at the tabs running across the top. Click on Settings. 4. You will see a little box titled Screen Resolution. In this box is a bar with an arrow on it. Use your mouse to drag the bar to the right until the screen resolution reads 1024 by 768 pixels or higher. 5. Click OK. 6. Log back on to GardenParty and try playing the game again. If you are using a Mac: 1. Log out of GardenParty. 2. Click on the blue apple icon on the top left of your screen. A menu will appear. Click on System Preferences. 3. Find the icon that looks like a computer monitor. It will say Display underneath. Click on this icon. 4. A box will pop up. Inside this box you will see the word Resolutions. Make sure that the resolution highlighted is 1024 x 768 or higher. If it is not, use your mouse to highlight 1024 x 768. 5. Click on the red button on the top of the box to close the box. 6. Log back on to GardenParty and try playing the game again. Reason #2: You might not have the right version of Adobe Flash Player to run the game properly. You will need to download a new flash player. There are a few ways to do this; 1. Try to play a game on GardenParty. You may get a message that says you need to download the newest version of Flash Player. Dont ignore it. Click OK to start and follow the steps you are given. 2. Visit Flash Player Download Center to update Flash Player. Follow the instructions on the Adobe website. How do I change my password? To change your password all you need to do is go to the following link: Account Why is my credit card statement showing an extra fee for my GardenParty membership? If you are receiving an extra fee for your GardenParty membership, it is likely that this fee is an International Transaction Fee. Recently, Visa International began adding an International Transaction Fee to cross-border transactions worldwide. GardenParty is located in London, UK so this may be the reason for this fee. Please note that none of this fee reaches GardenParty. Please contact your credit card provider for more details. I am asked to clear my Cache? Please check with your browser help for how to clear Cache as each browser has its own system. Will my membership automatically renew? The only time a membership will automatically renew is when you choose the monthly membership option, and then select the "Credit Card" method of payment from the list of payment methods. This membership will automatically renew to ensure uninterrupted service. You can cancel this membership at anytime. Six and 12 month memberships do not automatically renew, regardless of payment method. How do I invite friends to a party in my tree house? To invite friends to your tree house party: 1. Click on the button that looks like a card with balloons in your tree house. 2. A pop up will appear with all the names of your friends. 3. Click the boxes next to the friend's name you want to invite or click tick all to invite all of them. 4. Click invite to send out the invitations. How do I get rid of plants in my garden? If your Garden is full of plants that don't want or need anymore, you can throw them away by dragging and dropping a plant over the compost box: 1. Click on the move tool (looks like arrows crossing) 2. Click on the plant you would like to throw away 3. Drag the plant into the box with the word "Compost" this will give you some orbs. If you have a lawn nibbler and do not want throw it away please make sure you do not throw the lawn nibbler plant away as that is where they live. How do I change my membership package from a monthly recurring membership to a six or twelve month membership? To change your membership package, simply cancel your recurring monthly membership and purchase the new membership package of your choice. Any remaining time from your monthly recurring membership will stack onto your new membership. I cannot connect to the server? 1. This might be a problem on GardenPartys end. The server might be offline so that Garden Party can update or work on the website. If you can get to the Garden Party Community section, click on blog You can find important news there about what is happening on the site. 2. Check to make sure you are using the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. Your flash player is the part of your computer that lets you play GardenParty. You might need to install the newest version. The best way to do that is to go to the Flash Player Download Center. 3. You might need to clear out your cache. Please go to I am asked to clear my web browser cache to find out how to do this. It is simple to do, so you should try it and see if it helps. 4. If none of these things work, you should call your Internet Service Provider (ISP). That is the company that you pay to connect to the Internet. They might be using a firewall that is blocking the ports that lead to Garden Party. When you call them, tell them to open up these ports for TCP traffic, inbound and outbound: 3724, 6112, 6113, and 9875. 5. Your computer might have a firewall built into it. Programs such as Window XP, Vista, and Mac OSX have a firewall that might prevent you from logging on to GardenParty. Talk to a parent about how to change the settings on your firewall. How can I be a VIG Member? If you would like to become a VIG Member (Very Important Gardener) please ask your parent/guardian’s permission and help. Then click on the golden button with the M in the game or click on the following link: SIGN UP The username and password we ask when you want to become a VIG Member is your player name and the password you use to log into the game. The game is running slowly? There are a few different reasons why your gardener might seem to be moving around Garden Party in slow motion. Here are a few things you can try to speed things up a bit: 1. Make sure you are not running any other programs while you are on Garden Party. If you were visiting another website first, make sure you exit out of it. Do not try to play GardenParty while you are downloading music or video content from another site. This will slow things down a lot! 2. Sometimes things run slowly when the server is very busy. For example, Friday afternoon is a popular time to play Garden Party. You might find that the game runs slowly then. Log in again, and this time try clicking on a server that is not quite as full of gardeners as the others. 3. Sometimes a computer has a bad connection to a server. When you are asked to choose a server on GardenParty, try clicking on a different server. You might get a better connection. 4.You might be playing from a slow computer. There is not much you can do about that except to play on a different computer. You might also have a slow Internet connection. Please read My connection is slow! to find out more about this issue. How can I fly? You will not lose any membership time by canceling early. For example, if you purchase a membership on the 5th day of a month, and then cancel your membership, (immediately or otherwise) you will be charged one time only, and your membership will automatically expire on the 4th day of the following month. I am not sure what kind of computer I should be using? If you use a PC, it should have: Processor: Pentium III Speed: 500MHz Modem Speed: 56K modem or better Operating System: Windows 98, NT, 2000, ME, XP, or Vista Web Browser: Internet Explorer 6, Netscape 7.2, or Firefox 1 Flash Player: Adobe Flash Player 9 Every type of PC is different, so you may have to ask an adult to help you check the settings. If you use WinXP you can right-click on "My Computer" on the top of your screen. Then click on "Properties" to get most of the information. If you use a Mac, it should have: Processor: PowerPC G3, G4, G5, or Intel core Modem speed: 56K or better Memory: 256MB RAM Operating System: Mac OS X 10.3 Web Browser: Firefox 1.0.3 or better, Safari 2.0.4 Flash Player: Adobe Flash Player 9 To check your settings on a Mac, click the blue apple on top of your screen. Then click on "About This Mac" to get most of the information. How do I renew my membership? To renew your membership, please visit www.gardenpartyworld.com/account.php, and purchase the membership package of your choice for your account. As long as you use the same gardener name, the gardener will not lose any of its items. The gardener account will be exactly as it was before your membership expired. Flash Crash Im using Firefox 3.6.6 on a PC with Windows 7. The solution is to update Firefox to the next version, which will be released soon. as of 16/7/10 My connection is slow? There are two main reasons why it might take a long time for you to connect to the Internet: * Reason #1: Connection to the Internet * Reason #2: Things that slow down your connection Reason #1: The method you use to connect to the Internet may be a slow one. There are three main ways to connect to the Internet from a home computer: dial-up, cable, and DSL. If you have a dial-up connection, you connect to the Internet with a telephone line. This is the slowest way of connecting. You might always have a slow connection if you connect to GardenParty using dial-up. But there are a few things you can do to make sure you get the fastest connection possible: 1. Use the fastest modem you can. You will need a modem that sends and receives information at a speed of 56K per second. A modem with a speed of 2MB per second is even better. 2. Make sure there are no problems on your telephone line. An old phone line can pick up stray signals from other phone lines. This will interfere with your connection. Your parent or guardian might want to give your telephone service provider a call. They can tell you if there is a problem. Reason #2: Your computer might not be healthy. These things might all be slowing down your connection: 1. Make sure you are not running any other programs while you are on GardenParty. If you were visiting another website first, make sure you exit out of it. Do not try to play GardenParty while you are downloading music or video content from another site. This can really slow down your ability to connect to the Internet. 2. You might have more programs on your computer than your computer can handle. Even if all the programs are not running, they can slow things down. Talk to an adult in your home about deleting programs you never use to give your hard drive more space. 3. Your computer might not have enough memory. 4. Your computer might be infected by spyware. There are programs you can use that will check for spyware on your computer and clean it out for you. 5. Your computer might be infected by a virus. There are programs you can use that will check for viruses on your computer and get rid of them for you. I lost my connection? There are many reasons why you might lose your Internet connection. You might reconnect once and then not have a problem again. But if it keeps happening, there are a few things you can try to help solve the problem: 1. This might be a problem on Garden Party's end, not yours. The server might be offline so that Garden Party can update or work on the website. If you can get to the Garden Party home page, click on "Blog". You can find important news there about what is happening on the site. 2. Garden Party might be very busy. Any time a new items are added or a party is going on, lots of people log on at the same time. Friday afternoons are very busy, too. Try playing at a different time of day when things are not as busy. 3. Try logging on to a different Garden Party server. You might find a server that is not as busy as the one you were on before. 4. You might be playing from a slow computer. Try playing from a faster computer, if you can. Or read My connection is slow? to learn some ways you might be able to make your computer run faster. 5. If you have a wireless connection to the Internet, check to see that you have a "Very Good" or "Excellent" connection. A poor wireless connection will cause you to lose connection. 6. If you are playing Garden Party on a laptop, do not close the screen without logging out. This will cause you to lose your connection. 7. If you are using America Online, make sure you have the latest version of AOL. Your computer might have a firewall built into it. Operating systems such as Windows XP, Vista, and Mac OS X have a firewall that might prevent you from logging on to GardenParty. Talk to a parent about how to change the settings on your firewall. 8. If none of these things work, you should call your Internet Service Provider (ISP). That is the company that you pay to connect to the Internet. Remember me does not work? This happens when your flash player doesnt have enough room in it to save information from GardenParty. You can change your settings so that your flash player will have enough room to remember your gardener from now on. Just follow these simple steps. Right-click your mouse on the words GardenParty at the top of the page. A box will pop up. Click on the word Settings. 3. A new box will pop up. On the bottom of this box you will see an icon that looks like a file folder. Click on the file folder icon. 4. Glossary of Technical Terms Cache When you visit a web page, your web browser will store the page on your computer in something called a cache. If you visit the same page more than once, your browser will go to the version saved in the cache to save time. That is a good thing, but it might also mean that you are seeing an older version of the web page. You need to clear out your cache to get rid of the older version. Internet Service Provider (ISP) The company that provides access from your home computer to the Internet. An ISP usually charges you a fee every month. Firewall A set of programs that is designed to keep unwanted or unsafe information from getting to your computer through an Internet connection. It is like a locked door that blocks intruders. Flash Player A flash player is a computer program that lets you listen to music and sound and watch video and animation on your computer. When you connect to an Internet site that uses music or graphics, your flash player will help you interact with that site. Modem A device that takes the signal from your computer and transforms it so it can be sent over a telephone line. Pixel Every picture on you see on a computer screen is actually made up of tiny little squares. Each of these squares is called a pixel. Port Your computer has many ports. When information arrives at your computer from the Internet, one of the ports will receive that information. Router A router is kind of like a traffic officer. Web Browser When you log on to the Internet, you use a web browser to help you visit different sites. The name of your browser should be on the icon that you click on when you connect to the Internet. It will also appear at the top of your screen when you are connected. I need to know how fast my connection should be? Garden Party is designed to work with a 56K modem or higher. Most computers with a dial-up Internet connection have a 56K modem. This will work, but you may find that it takes a long time to load things or connect. These Internet connections are faster: 1. Use a modem with a speed of 2MB per second with your dial-up connection. 2. Use a computer with a DSL connection. 3. Use a computer with a cable connection. 4. Use a computer with a fiber-optic connection. I have cleared my cache, but the same error message is still there! If you have followed the steps in your brower help, your cache should be clear. If you are still getting the same message, there are a few things you can try. 1. Make sure you exit your web browser and open it up again before you try logging onto GardenParty. 2. Turn your computer off. Turn it on again. Then try logging onto GardenParty. 3. If none of this works, you might be having trouble with your flash player. Your flash player is the part of your computer that lets you play GardenParty. You might need to re-install it. The best way to do that is to go to the Adobe Flash Player Download Center. 	How to fly You must buy a bee Seed from Alf in the shop. Plant and grow the seed in your garden. Once the seed has fully grown, click on the item and it will go into your clothes menu. If you place the mouse over the sky, a bee icon will appear. This means you can fly and reach all those things high up in the sky!. How to play conkers Find the conkers high up in the trees. You might need to fly if you want to reach it. The conker icon will then appear in your games drop down menu. By clicking on the icon, you will see a conker appear above your head. Wait for someone else to click on it, you will then play against your opponent. You will then see a moving cursor, do your best to click on the arrow just as the moving cursor moves past. The closer to the centre, the better. How to chat with other players With standard chat, you can simply begin typing whilst playing, then press enter and a speech bubble will appear above your head. With pre-scripted chat you have to click the speech bubble icon at the top of the page (next to the typing box in the centre) and a list of greetings and phrases will be displayed. Click the most appropriate one for what you want to say. Orbs and how to get them Orbs are the currency used within GardenParty. You can use your orbs to buy seeds to grow in your garden, and pets to look after. Orbs are earned by taking part in lots of activities and games. The more you take part in, the more orbs you will earn! Pets Well firstly, pets require lots of looking after and nurturing, so you must be sure you are ready to look after one. Once you are sure, you have to earn lots of orbs in order to buy a pet in the shop. Getting on the High Score table It's a mixture of luck, speed and keeping a steady hand! Depending on the activity, you have to use the skills and experience you have gained in GardenParty to the best of your ability to get the highest score. Fishing require swift, fast motions. The space mission requires forward thinking in order to avoid the obstacles but gain as many orbs as possible. The other score boards can be easier to get on to as they simply require dedication from the best Gardeners!
